1. Closure of Businesses
Business closures and job loss. Many small companies permanently closed their business sue to pandemic. These include restaurants, tour companies, and entertainment industries.
2. Video Calls and Webinars
Videoconferencing apps, like Zoom, Cisco Webex, Skype and Google Hangouts, have been activated during the pandemic. These are very likely to be used even after the pandemic and constantly developed.
3. Virtual Hospital
Doctors made appointments with patients virtually and gave medicine. This system would be utilized in the future as well since it prevents patients to go to a doctor’s office and wait for hours. Some doctors will be able to serve patients in rural communities that lack adequate healthcare coverage.
4. Commercial real estate
Demand for office space is likely to decrease as employers realize that their employees do not necessarily have to come to the office for meetings. If a face-to-face meeting is required, employers can simply rent a conference room. Also they will increase the opportunity to work virtually, since working from home gives much less stress and provides more time to spend with family.
5. Online Shopping & Delivery
Food delivery services like Uber Eats and grocery delivery services like Amazon Prime will constantly develop even after the pandemic. They are convenient and timesaving for people especially who works at home.
6. PPE(Personal protective equipment)
Masks and gloves will be sold more compared to the pandemic before, although demand will slow. Some people might wear masks and gloves in public to prevent the spread of other diseases like cold.
7. Virtual Learning
Many schools are currently using virtual learning system. Even though it limits interacting with peers, it benefits students who are exploring academic interests.
8. Theater in House
The amount of people going to movie theater will be reduced compared to the past because of streaming services like Netflix and YouTube TV. They are likely to survive as long as they keep delivering high quality programming and content. One world benefits from the changes due to pandemic, while the other does not.
A key challenge after pandemic is dealing with the ongoing divide between the haves and have-nots.
