The Delta Variant

Coronavirus cases are rising again as the newer strain, the Delta variant, is spreading across the world. It has already become the dominant strain in the US, making up around 83% of new cases, and is more contagious than the other strains. Vaccination is currently the best protection against this new virus as 97% of hospital admissions with Covid-19 are unvaccinated people. White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci says, "The easiest and best and most effective way that we can prevent the emergence of a new variant and crush the already existing delta variant is to get everyone vaccinated".
