There are two vaccines by Moderna and Pfizer

1. How Do Vaccines Work
Vaccines work in a variety of ways, but the most common ones are inactivating or weakening viruses. However, Moderna and Pfizer are testing the vaccine that has not been approved for humans. It works by the messenger RNA which is injected into the muscle cell and makes protein stimulated so that the human body can have protection for COVID-19.
2. Testing the Vaccine
To make sure the vaccines are safe for human use, they go through four steps. Firstly, doctors give vaccine to the small group of volunteers and watch their symptom. Secondly, scientists give the vaccine to the broader group including children and elderly. Thirdly, scientists compares two bigger groups by giving vaccine to just one of them and this step is being held for vaccines by Moderna and Pfizer. After this step, the vaccine is being approved and spread for use.
3. Who Will Get the Vaccine First?
According to CDC, certain groups who have to work outside would be prioritized for the vaccine such as police officers or health care workers and who are older than 65. The number of health care workers are estimated to be 17 to 20 million, and essential workers including police officers are estimated to be 60 to 80 million. Also, the number of people who are older than 65 is estimated to be 53 million.
