A recent study conducted by the CDC involved a sample of about 300 adults with COVID- 19. They stated that these individuals were twice as likely to have eaten at restaurants, while about 160 adults were tested negative and acted as the control group. The individuals who tested positive were twice as likely to report dining out than the control group. The reason for this is because masks cannot be worn while eating or drinking, so the virus is more likely to spread in these locations. Factors like direction, ventilation and airflow may also have a negative impact on the spread of the virus. Many restaurants have come up with a response to these problems by placing restrictions on reopened restaurants.
