Vitamin D has been a cure-all treatment for years, helping with minor colds and under the weather symptoms, mainly helping the body build up its respiratory system. So during this pandemic, where negative respiratory symptoms from COVID-19 have run amuck, people have used “causation without correlation” as a means to supplement testing and treatment for Vitamin D supplements. While there have been signs that there is a connection between COVID-19 and Vitamin D deficiency from a study in Texas, Yale’s doctors and 5 other medical studies have concluded that the chance of the relationship’s existence is slim to none. This is not to say that Vitamin D doesn’t do anything, as one should still take it to support bone and muscle health, but if you or someone you know has COVID-19 symptoms, don’t rely on homemade methods and please get tested.
